Having been born the eldest of six girls to Irish parents in Birmingham I am a natural organiser. I look forward to my year as President surrounded by a group of friendly ladies who welcomed me to their IW group in 2004.
I went into the Insurance business at the age of seventeen straight from school. During this time I met my husband, John, and now after thirty years of marriage and moving to live in the Forest of Dean because of John’s work I am still in Insurance working alongside John. In the meantime we had two children, Jonathan and Lynsey, who are both in the building trade, and yes Lynsey is a girl who works twice as hard as the men on site and loves every minute of it. Over the years I have indulged my passion for art, going to regular classes and visiting exhibitions which have taken me far and wide, including the Hermitage in St Petersburg which has over 400 rooms of art.
My most recent interest is beekeeping. I got two hives last summer, which are keeping me busy as the colonies are coming and going... mostly going with our wonderful weather and all the external issues affecting bees.
